Keianna Dixon

Managing Partner

  • Life as a Black woman and daughter of Jamaican immigrants inspires Keianna’s passion for racial equity and entrepreneurship. She was raised in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. in a large family from Jamaica, a small country with enormous cultural innovation and global impact. In her family, entrepreneurship was a way of life. She used a home-grown entrepreneurial mindset to land a full merit scholarship to Columbia University.

  • Keianna began her career over 12 years ago as an Obama White House Intern. She had the opportunity of a lifetime to work alongside global leaders to advise President Obama on personnel and policy matters for his administration. In recognition of her leadership, Keianna had the honor of being invited to a personal meeting with President Obama. She also met the First Lady and the President’s senior advisors.

After college, Keianna moved into the private sector as a management consultant at Deloitte; later, she worked with McKinsey as an independent consultant. Inspired by her White House experience, as a management consultant she advised public sector executives on healthcare reform, including Healthcare.gov, which expanded healthcare access for millions of Americans.

  • Keianna left Deloitte to return to Columbia on a merit scholarship to earn a Master of Public Health, deepening her healthcare expertise. In graduate school, she was introduced to venture capital, which resonated strongly with her entrepreneurial mindset and early-career track record.

She took learnings from her public health studies and entrepreneurship studies at Columbia Business School to launch and scale digital health startups. As CEO and Co-Founder of Soshel, she built and launched a social care marketplace for behavioral health, inspired by family members living with serious behavioral health conditions. As COO of Emmyco, she led a team to scale a marketplace for on-demand patient services, partnering with leading health systems.

Meanwhile, she invested in digital health and biotechnology startups at the Keiretsu Forum and MBX Capital. She evaluated dozens of startup pitches and conducted due diligence to recommend startups for investment. She served as a mentor at Techstars and First Round Capital.

  • Today, Keianna is Managing Partner at Keianna Dixon Consulting. She uses her expertise to advise startups on launching, growing at scale, and fundraising.

Outside of Keianna Dixon Consulting, she is a business development manager at Amazon Web Services guiding startups and emerging vendors to grow at scale on the AWS Marketplace.

  • Throughout life, Keianna has learned to build fearlessly and authentically. She encourages founders to bring their authentic selves when building the world’s next billion-dollar company.

Outside of work, you can find her living life to the fullest at Caribbean fêtes, exploring nature, and obsessing over track and field championships.
